The time is fast approaching and I cannot believe it. Come May 1st, our time from the past few years will change in a whirlwind. There will be no more 9-5 jobs, an apartment, or commitments to attend to. On May 1st all of our belongings will be in storage and we will set out on our long planned journey to travel the country in our trailer and film automotive enthusiasts. So much time has been spent watching people fulfill their passion and dreams and now we are ready to follow ours. We have been planning on this for over a year now and we will begin to live our dream. Lots of preparation has happened over the past few months. We have spent a lot of time deciding on the right trailer, packing our stuff up, moving 401k’s, getting insurances(health,rv,production), and planning our routes. Here is what is planned so far….
Las Vegas – May 1-3rd
LA – May 5-15th
Phoenix – May 17-20th
Albuquerque – May 22-24th
Dallas/Austin/Houston – May 29th-June 12th
New Orleans – June 15-19th
The dates are a bit flexible and if a great story comes up we may change up the route a bit to capture it. If you have any ideas, stories, or suggestions for anything along our route please contact me. If there is a shop, museum, or store we need to see, please let me know. If you want to meet up for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or coffee, we would love to meet new people. You can send me an email, post on Facebook, or tweet at me.
Depth of Speed Season 02 is coming up quick. Stay tuned for many videos, photos, and posts of our travels! I am adding some new short videos this season and am constantly looking for cool cars to film if you are too nervous to get in front of the camera.
If you are curious this is what we finally settled on…Hopefully we will see you soon!

And here is my dirty self after traveling to Colorado Springs recently to pick up our trailer.

Awesome! Season 1 was excellent, can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store. Best of luck on your travels!
How long are you planning on traveling for? Sounds like this is a much bigger endeavor than a month…
Any plans to pop north of the border? I know of a pretty damn good hotrod party in August in Southern Ontario…
Anyways, best of luck in the travels, and keep up the good work! Looking forward to Season 2!
We are not exactly sure how long we will be gone for. If it extends longer we will definitely be going north of the border. My wife really wants to go to Montreal.
If you’re going as far as Montreal then you should at least stop at Mt. Tremblant to see the track there. ( very active with club track days and the owner is a big Ferrari fanatic. ) and if you make in time — the GP of Canada.
… and since Motreal has a “cosmopolitian” flair , you should continue on to Quebc City for the FULL French Canadian experience.
Do you accept donations? Because I have only heard a few more noble causes.
I honestly hadn’t thought of that! I don’t have anything setup right now but will look into.
When you’re in Phoenix, you might want to stop by the Pavillions Car Show. It’s a weekly car show every Saturday night off of the 101 and Indian Bend. The old guys in classics and hot rods start showing up around 3-5, and tuners/ricers start showing up around 7 and later. You probably won’t be able capture much there, but it’s a neat spot to talk to car guys and see a lot of cars in one place, some of them being very unique. Who knows, you might even get a story out of it if you talk to the right person.
Also, there’s two performance shops in Phoenix called Goodspeed Performance and Forced Air Technologies (FAT). Goodspeed is a Subaru shop and as the name says, FAT is anything with forced induction. I’m sure they’d be down to do a story with you guys. Both shops get an abundance of cool stuff going in there.
Finally, I just want to let you know that your work is incredible. Your videos convey so much emotion and feeling through them, that I find myself almost “knowing” the featured person at the end of video and I’m sad when the video ends. You capture the connection and love between man and machine perfectly. If you do decide to go to the Pavillions, send me an Email and I’ll definitely hang out and talk with you guys!
Hey guys! Congrats on the big move into your dreams. I’m also a automotive photographer and Car Nut. I live in Dallas, and just was y’all are here. Give a shout. If y’all aren’t too busy give me a call and it’d be nice to talk with y’all.
